1500 Clutch Bags made and sold!
Steven has made 1500 Kylie clutch bags since he came up with this distinctive design in 2008. All handmade in the UK first and now in Australia. What an achievement!
We introduced it in many bright colours at a spring fair for the weddings season. And it flew off the shelves as soon as it hit the shops!
Sheridan Smith (The Moorside, Cilla, Mrs Biggs, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps) chose it in black to receive one of her two Laurence Olivier Awards.
Angel Coulby (The Tunnel, Dancing on the Edge, Merlin) matched it to a gorgeous blue outfit.
A great choice for the races as featured in Eclipse Magazine September 2017, in Go for Gold at the Ayr Gold Cup: “More star gazing with this Best Fashion Accessory Award winning Kylie clutch. Wanting to design a clutch for Kylie Minogue, Steven Harkin was inspired by her eye make-up for the shape. Like Kylie, this patent leather clutch is small but perfectly formed – a little splash of glossy red to raise the glamour stakes to fiery heights.”
California-based fashion blogger Kim Pesch (eat.sleep.wear) featured it in a Boticca article: “Orange is one of my favorite colors this season and this clutch has a great angular shape to it! I see myself out on the town, in a pair of silk shorts, tights, wedges and a blousy cropped top. Something a little out of the box. I could also see myself headed to happy hour in a pair of skinny jeans, biker boots, and a crisp striped shirt”.
The patent black won best fashion accessory award of the year in 2014. It is a perfect match for the iconic Louboutin shoes to go to the Opera, Theater, Royal Ascot and of course weddings.
Wedding guests and mothers of brides (or grooms) often request a custom colour to match their dress.
From Royal blue for the Royal wedding to the London Olympic games version, here are some of the many Kylie clutches Steve has made on special commissions.
