In late September we exhibited at Design Junction in London. Our first show since we closed our shop, our first presence at the London Design Festival, so it was particularly exciting to see the rest of the show and discover the spectacular King’s Cross site.
We loved exploring and meeting other designers. So much skill and innovation. For us the star of the show was our little Babs bag, but here is our pick of the other incredible designers, makers and creators we saw.
Our favourite products at Design Junction:
The most inventive object for the table. SALT created by Croatian graphic designer couple, Vlatka and Ivan Zidar (also a chef). A salt container where you harvest your own salt from the Adriatic. We had the best moments with them, sharing our impressions of the show and a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Made in London - sustainable refillable scented candles. These lovely handmade ceramic containers are by Ana Bridgewater of Abalaon UK. You can choose your favourite vase and scent (love the lemongrass!)
Cloth maker Majeda Clarke. Majeda is a fellow Cockpit Arts resident who creates textiles inspired by her roots - with a modern twist. Of course, we fell in love with this upholstered Mid Century Modern chair.
Emma Alington's handmade ceramics. You can see her make them here: scroll down her website page to watch the video!
Tom Pigeon and the Make Bank. We love Tom Pigeon minimalist jewellery, cushions and prints. Their social project The Make Bank provides Art and Design kits for disadvantaged young people. They support those who want to pursue creative education and careers. Such a great idea!
